12-21-19: . Red Rock HMA
Note: The November and early December rains allowed the horses to walk to grassy areas farther from their water source while utilizing water pockets nearby. The water pockets can make it a challenge to locate horses, however, it’s wonderful for the utilization of the land and that the wild ones don’t have to walk as far between food and water.
We located Promise’s band. The Cousin Twins, Junius and Lily, were laying down on the damp ground. Their mares, Blaze and Mesquite were foraging.
Junius got up, went to Blaze and began to nurse. Finished, he walked back to Lily while both mares continued foraging.
