Epona (the first 2021 foal) remains in good condition. First time dam Pearl remains low in weight, since she foaled at the end of February.
Diego is in “normal drought condition”.
Observations reflect the small band hasn’t ventured far from water, for food. (There is no lameness.) When three year old Pearl foaled at the end of February, she was still living with the dominant mare of her birth band. Four year old Diego was still living with the bachelors. There were a few changes in March, 2021 leaving Pearl and Epona have been with Diego. Observing them, I can’t help but think they don’t know what to do or where to go. They’ve been out there long enough to know both.
