***Prior observations reflect 2017 was the year the horses began to eat Russian Thistle/Tumbleweeds. They started to forage on the plant at about two to three inches tall, through the first of its drying stage. (Even at the small stage of growth, the plant is prickly when touched by hand.) The plant has since become a regular part of their summer diet.
