These photographs of Promises’ band reflect a Spring day during foal season, in their life, as they go between water and land to forage on.
Prior to the July/August 2019 gather, the horses were walking anywhere from 6 to 10 miles between food and water. Usually, that was twice a day. Today, they’re walking 1 to 3 miles.
As it’s foal season, one mile because the new foals have to rest frequently. Three miles to keep other stallions away.
