Shortly after noon, we observed Tracker and Junius about a mile from their location earlier this morning. Nicholas had left his nearby band to join them. The three were exhibiting nonaggressive, normal interactions of young males that do not live together.
***One year ago today, four-year-old Nicholas was the dominant colt in the bachelor band. By the end of the following month, he had secured Luna and a few fillies to make his own band. Despite a few changes during the past year, he’s successfully held on to Luna.
After observing the colts and Nicholas for a while, we walked towards Luna and the others…..
