We came across Mama B’s band on December 21, 2019. Neither Mama B or E were with them. On December 28, 2019, we found Mama B’s carcass. At over 25 years old, she was tired and ready to go on to greener pastures. She held on long enough for her filly to survive without her. No sign of E, Mama B’s July, 2019 filly.
December 31, 2019 was the last time we saw Pluma and Montana.
Today, we located six month old E. We observed her with Pluma and Montana. She was leading them along the trail. Her winter coat is thick, fuzzy, and bright red. She appeared extremely comfortable with the two, as they were with her.
